Historical Center
The oldest area of āāMexico City is also the richest, in terms of its cultural, architectural and gastronomic offer. Ciudad Universitaria
During the 1940s, the modernity and development of the country were uncontrollable, in addition to an industrialization that demanded to materialize an architectural center that would concentrate the main activities of the most important academic and cultural project in the country: the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). In 1952, Ciudad Universitaria was inaugurated by the then president Miguel AlemƔn and it was until 2007 that it was declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
